Evelyn Whittington, age 76, of Port
Norris died early Tuesday morning, August 8, 2006 at the Peninsula
Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. She had been a patient there for
two weeks after she became ill while visiting family in the Chrisfield
area.
Born in Newport, the daughter of the
late Gilbert and Viola Martin Livingston she was the wife of Beryl F.
Whittington. She had been a Port Norris resident for over 50 years and
had lived in Newport prior to that.
Mrs. Whittington had been employed
with the Vineland Developmental Center for over 20 years before her
retirement in 1991.
She was a member of the Shiloh
Baptist Church in Port Norris and the Shiloh Express Church Choir.
In addition to her husband, survivors
include four sons, James, Philip, Ronald and Donald Cisrow all of Port
Norris; three daughters, Barbara Eckeard of Millville and Sarah Cisrow
and Shirlene Smith both of Port Norris; two step-daughters, Theole
Horsey of Maryland and Marida Tindel of Port Norris; three brothers,
Phillip Martin of Newport, Joseph Livingston of Millville and Alonzo
Livingston of Vineland; five sisters, Violet White and Lucille Ennals
both of Port Norris, Laura Langley of Millville, Lottie Bethel of
Maryland and Shirley Hayward of Wildwood. She was predeceased by four
brothers, George, Sherman, Melvin and Clarence Livingston and one
sister, Barbara Ann Forman.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, August 12th at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Memorial
Avenue, Port Norris.
Burial will take place at Haleyville
Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12
to 1 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
