Mary B. Chiari, 82, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, in Hahnemann Hospital,
Philadelphia, Pa. She had been in failing health for 3 months and a
patient at the hospital for 6 days.
The wife of the late John F. Chiari, Jr., who passed away in January,
2001, she was born in Bedford, Va. and was the daughter of the late John
Reeves Overstreet and Mary Lucy Carter Overstreet. She had been a
resident of Upper Deerfield Township for 65 years, coming from Virginia.
Mary had been involved with volunteer work with several area
organizations, including the Senior Craft Center in Bridgeton, South
Jersey HospiceCare and the Contact Crisis Center Hotline.
Survivors include: two sons, John F. Chiari, III and his wife Breya and
Ronald J. Overstreet and his wife Mary, both of Upper Deerfield
Township; two daughters, Mary Anne Muccirelli and her husband John,
Upper Deerfield Township and Linda C. Caudill and her husband Sterling,
South Bound Brook; one sister, Lillie Bacigalupo, Buena; three
grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
two sisters, Helen Dooley and Macy Orange and three brothers, Edgar
Overstreet, Gilbert Overstreet and William Overstreet.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday morning, Dec. 29, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Northville Lutheran Cemetery, Upper
Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on
Thursday evening between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the
family requests donations, in Mrs. Chiari’s memory, to the charity of
