Amelia Langston, 91, of Millville,
formerly of Port Norris, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday
evening, Dec. 19, 2006, in the South Jersey Regional Medical Center. She
had been in failing health for 6 months and a patient at the hospital
for the past week.
The wife of the late John E. Langston, she was born in Marion Station,
Md. and was the daughter of the late Hance Toadvine and May King
Toadvine. She had lived in Millville for 8 years and prior to that had
been a resident of Port Norris for several years.
Before her retirement she had been employed with the Vineland State
School for 22 years. She had also worked for Riggin & Robbins Oyster Co.
in Port Norris.
Amelia was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church of Port
Norris and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include: one daughter, June L. Broughton, Millville; two sons,
William Langston and John Langston, both of Port Norris; twenty
grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Brenda M. Gaskins;
many great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Langston and a
brother, Hanson Toadvine.
Funeral services will be held in John Wesley United Methodist Church,
Ogden Avenue, Port Norris, on Friday, Dec. 29, at 12:00 O’clock noon.
Burial will be in Haleyville Cemetery, Commercial Township. A viewing
will be held at the church on Friday morning between 11:00 and 12:00
O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT
