Ruth G. Padgett, 89, of Bridgeton,
died in the Cumberland Manor, Hopewell Township, on Tuesday, Dec. 12,
2006. She had been in declining health for several years.
The wife of the late Hugh Padgett, she was born Bybee, Tenn., and was
the daughter of the late Julius Holt and Essie Buckner Holt. Ruth and
her husband had moved to this area in 1945. She had lived in Bridgeton
for 25 years and prior to that had been a resident of Upper Deerfield
Township.
She was a member of Friendship-Finley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, P. Marvin Padgett, Fairfield Township and
Ronald Padgett, Cedarville; two sisters-in-law, Arvilla Holt, Upper
Deerfield Township and Mary Holt, Fort Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren;
several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by a son, Dale H. Padgett; two brothers, Harold Holt and James
Holt and three sisters, Pauline Howell, Junella Lovell and Norma Cody.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday afternoon, Dec. 18, at
1:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening
between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
