Edward Table, age 77, of Upper
Deerfield Township died Tuesday evening, December 5, 2006 at the Hospice
Care Unit of South Jersey HospiceCare in Bridgeton.
A lifetime Bridgeton area resident he
was born on January 4, 1929 to the late Fred and Hazel Wright Table and
was the husband of Margaret Karstensen Table.
A well known local businessman, Mr.
Table established Ed’s Body Shop in 1952 and until just recently
continued to own and operate the facility along with the assistance of
his wife Margaret and other family members.
He was a lifetime member of the
Bridgeton Order of the Elks Lodge and was well known for his sponsorship
of the Bridgeton Invitational Tournament, numerous bowling teams and
soft ball and little league teams in Hopewell and Upper Deerfield
Townships and also the Bridgeton Senior Baseball League.
Ed was a charter member of Upper
Deerfield Volunteer Fire Co, # 3; an avid hunter and also had raced at
the former Vineland Speedway, driving the “Little 1”. He loved playing
cards with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by two daughters, Barbara Cook and her husband Marty of
Millville, Brenda Table-Giorno of Upper Deerfield Township; two sons,
Edward “Jake” Table, Jr. and Robert “Dinker” Table both of Upper
Deerfield Township; an extended son, Richard “Dickie” Syring, Millville;
one sister, Minnie Zanchkoski of Upper Deerfield Township; a brother,
Joseph Table of Bridgeton; five grandchildren, Kelly Miletta, Edward
“Jay” Table, Kati Table, Georgeanna Levari and Brianna Giorno and two
great-grandchildren, Alison Table and Tyler Miletta and numerous
in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by
three brothers, Fred, Jr., Alvin and Charles Table and four sisters,
Lydia Bender, Sara Williamson, Hazel Burns and Deborah Bottorf.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township
on Saturday, December 9th at 12 Noon.
Burial will take place at Laurel Lawn
Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends may call on Saturday morning
from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon prior to the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family
requests that contributions, in Mr. Table’s memory, be made to either
the South Jersey Hospital Foundation, 1430 West Sherman Avenue, Suite 4,
Vineland, NJ 08360, the South Jersey Hospice Impatient Center, 333
Irving Ave., Bridgeton, N. J. 08302, or the charity of ones choice.
