Morris G. Sooy, 93, of Millville,
formerly of Bridgeton, died in Genesis-Millville Center on Monday, Feb.
20, 2006. He had been in failing health for the past 5 years.
The husband of the late Thelma Riccard Sooy, who passed away in 1968, he
was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Jesse and Ada Osborne
Sooy. He had lived in Millville since 1998 and prior to that had been a
Bridgeton resident for most of his life.
Morris was a painter by trade and prior to his retirement he had been
employed for the late Russell Ridgeway for several years. Before that he
had worked at Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville, Ferricute Machine Co. in
Bridgeton and the Venice Maid Co. in Vineland.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Bridgeton.
Survivors include: two sons, Jesse E. Sooy, Upper Deerfield Township and
Arthur G. Sooy, Salem; two daughters, Gloria M. Olivetti, Millville and
Charlotte R. Blizzard, Georgetown, Tex.; sixteen grandchildren and
twenty one great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, Feb. 24, at 2:00
O’clock in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper
Deerfield Township. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton. A
viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon between
1:00 and 2:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests
contributions to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Div. Inc,
Cumberland Unit, P. O. Box, 5066, Cherry Hill, N. J. 08034-5066. Written
