Gwendolyn Holland, age 89, of Port
Norris died Friday, January 20, 2006 at South Jersey Regional Medical
Center, where she had been patient for two days after a brief illness.
Born in New York City, the daughter
of the late Arden Bryan and Selina Leacock she was the wife of the late
Linwood Holland. She had lived in Port Norris for 70 years and prior to
that resided in Barbados.
Before her retirement she had been
employed in the cafeteria at the Port Norris Elementary School for 20
years.
Mrs. Holland was a member of the John
Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris for over 60 years.
She enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters,
Gwendolyn Perkins of Port Norris and Beulah Clinton of Barbados; one
son, Collins Clinton of Barbados, 11 grandchildren, 23
great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with several
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son,
Augustus Perkins, Jr., a brother, Cecil Gill and a sister, Ella Leacock.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday at 1 p.m. from the John Wesley United Methodist Church, Ogden
Avenue, Port Norris.
Burial will be made at Haleyville
Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church prior to the services.
