Beatrice C. Massey, 91, of Quinton
Township, passed away to be with our Lord on Monday, Jan. 30, 2005, in
South Jersey Regional Medical Center.
The wife of the late Lester H. Massey, she was born in Linwood and was
the daughter of the late Elijah H. and Elizabeth Chew Sutton. She had
been a resident of Quinton Township for most of her life. She had also
resided in Pleasantville, Chester, Pa. and Vineland.
Beatrice formerly had been employed with Morvay & Son Sewing Factory in
Bridgeton and had also worked at Casper & Ware’s Shirt Factory in Elmer
for 10 years. In 1942, she left the factory to become a homemaker and
working on the family farm.
Survivors include: one son, Russell S. Massey and his wife Phyllis,
Hopewell Township; her former-daughter-in-law, Sherry Massey, Quinton
Township, a granddaughter, Shelly Davis and her husband Rich, Quinton
Township; one great granddaughter, Kristina Davis, Quinton Township; one
sister, Ethel “Peg” Maxson, Wilmington, Del.; two step-grandchildren,
Jennifer Cassidy and her husband Jeffrey, Hopewell Township and Robert
Turner, Hopewell Township;; two step-great grandchildren, Justin Cassidy
and Sara Kate Cassidy; four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in
death by a sister, Alfreda Jeffers.
Rev. Terry Smith will conduct graveside funeral services in Fernwood
Memorial Park, Shiloh Pike, Hopewell Township, on Thursday afternoon,
Feb.2, at 1:00 O’clock. Interment will follow the services. There will
be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers the family suggests
contributions to the Shiloh Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 27, Shiloh, N. J.
08353. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT
