Priscilla Ray Loder, age 80, of
Shiloh, died Monday evening, July 10, 2006 at Cumberland Manor in
Hopewell Township after an extended illness.
Born in Canton, the daughter of the
late Frank and Sophia Westcott Hancock, she was the wife of the late
Clarence A. Loder, Sr.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Loder
had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cumberland Manor
where she received a certificate for 30 years of service. She had also
worked at the former Manheim Nursing Home and Bridgeton Hospital along
with the Cumberland County Meals on Wheels Program for many years. In
her younger years she had been employed at the former Val Mode Lingerie
Company, Seibel and Stern Clothing Company, the Laurel and Majestic
Theaters and Woolworths Department Store all in Bridgeton.
Priscilla assisted by driving many of
her elder friends to appointments and meetings and scheduled bus trips
to Atlantic City to raise funds for artistic children through the
Victory Star Lodge 110 of Vineland. She was a charter member of the
Cornelia Hancock Auxiliary # 10, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil
War. She had been a Cub Scout, Girl Scout, and 4H Leader for 5 years
each and had received a Lifetime Membership to the New Jersey State PTA
along with being a PTA President at the Shiloh School for 2 years. Her
church memberships included the West Park United Methodist Church,
Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Church and Bethany Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas
Carl Hemple, Sr. and his companion Gladys, Clarence A. Loder, Jr. and
his wife Karen; four daughters, Penny (Beckett) Farside and her husband
Jeff, Mary (Loder) Post and her husband Wayne, Viola (Loder) Smithcors
and husband Clarence “Buzz” and Audrey (Loder) Turner and her husband
Ralph; a step daughter, Ella Mae Sorantino and her husband John; two
sisters, Louella Elwell and Eva Massey; twenty grandchildren, Carl
Hemple, Jr. and Melissa Hemple, Thomas and Timothy Ayars, Deanna Fioresi,
Anne Mae (Greene) Folwell, Christina and Priscilla Maxwell, James and
Kathleen Connelly, Kelly and Ryan Loder, William, Erica, Morgan and
Steven Turner and John, III, Douglas, David Scott and Todd Sorantino;
several great-grandchildren including, Stephanie, Jason and Madison
Greene, Eric and Mary Ann Wurtzel, Fantasia Folwell, Christian Fields
and Andrew Maxwell. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Hancock
Buckson and Frances Lula Hancock and a brother Thomas Hancock.
Memorial Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday morning, July 13th at
11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Woodruff
Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday morning
from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

that contributions in Mrs. Loder’s memory be made to the Cumberland
Manor Activities Fund, 154 Sunny Slope Drive, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
