Betty Elenora Baird, aged 71, retired
L.G. Nester Glass worker, died in her home at the Riverview West Senior
Apartments in Millville, on Friday, June 23, 2006, following a
courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born on July 17, 1934 in Bridgeton, N. J., to the late Samuel
and Lillian Creamer Pierce. She was a 1952 graduate of Bridgeton High
School.
Betty was president of the Riverview West Social Club, president of the
Riverview West Welcoming Committee and Council and acted as the Fire
Captain for the third floor of her building and worked as front desk
building security on Monday nights. She was also a member of the Fairton
Christian Center.
She enjoyed gardening, playing dice in the social room, going on
Atlantic City Casino Bus Trips, eating breakfast at the Millville Queen
Diner and spending time with friends and family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Dawn Pagnini and her husband Alan of
Vineland; her sister, Clara Marrero and family of Millville and nephew
Linwood Marshall, his wife Joyce and family of Millville. She is further
survived by her nieces, nephews and countless friends. Betty touched the
hearts of many people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her companion, Morton Biggs, Jr.; eight brothers, Carl, Elder,
Herbert, Howard, Linwood, Ralph, Sam and Walter and three sisters,
Annabel, Dorothy and Verna.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, June 30th, at 11:00
O’clock at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper
Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday
morning between 9:00 and 11:00 O’clock. The family would like to thank
