Mary L. Bishop, 53, of Millville,
passed away at her home on Monday, June 12, 2006, after an extended
illness.
Mary was born Aug. 13, 1952, in Sale City, Ga., and was the daughter of
the late Zeke & Mary Johnson. She had lived in Millville for the past 6
years and prior to that she had been a resident of Seabrook.
Prior to retiring, due to her illness, she had been employed in the food
service department at the Seabrook House in Upper Deerfield.
She was a member of In His Presence Worship Center in Millville, where
she ushered and cleaned the church until she became to ill to do so.
Mary loved to cook and feed people. She didn’t care who they were, she
would invite them in for a hearty meal. Mary will be remembered for her
kindness, hospitality, bright smile and snappy attitude. She was fun,
loving, and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Anthony Johnson, Millville
two daughters, Tammie Morris and Tonya Johnson, both of Millville; a
granddaughter who she raised, Latashia Bishop; four brothers, Jerry
Johnson (Wanda) of Florida, Ezelle Johnson, Georgia, Frankie Johnson
(Tina), Vineland and Joseph Johnson (Shelia), Cape May; two sisters,
Jessie May McCoy (Willie), Cedarville and Tina Gary (Ralph), Millville;
eleven grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Shiloh Baptist Church, Memorial
Avenue, Port Norris, N. J., on Monday afternoon, June 19, at 1:00
O’clock. Burial will be in Haleyville Cemetery, Commercial Township. A
viewing will be held at the church on Monday afternoon between 12:00 and
1:00 O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
