Ephraim Mosley, Jr., aged 78, of
Vineland, formerly of Hopewell Township, died in the Memorial Hermann
Hospital, Houston, Tex., on Monday, June 19, 2006. He had been in
failing health for several years.
The husband of the late Nellie Ridgeway Mosley, he was born in Greenwich
and was the son of the late Ephraim and Rebecca Loatman Mosley. He had
lived in Vineland for the past 3 years and prior to that had been a
resident of Hopewell Township.
Prior to his retirement in 1985, Ephraim was a union carpenter by trade
and had been employed through Carpenters Local # 542 for 20 years.
Before that he had worked with the former Halter Building Service for a
number of years.
He was a former member of the Gouldtown Volunteer Fire Co. and fire
police and the Hopewell-Stow Creek Volunteer Fire Co. He was also a
member of the Bridgeton Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Nanticoke
Lenni-Lenape Indians and was a ham radio operator and antique car
collector.
Survivors include: one daughter, Dianna L. Mosley, Hopewell Township;
one son, Ephraim Mosley, III, Fairfield Township; four sisters, Sarah
Rainey, Betty Jackson, Greenwich, Marguerite Yashino, Tacoma, Wash. and
Phyllis Carter, Dover, Del.; three grandchildren, Aaron L. Mosley, Amber
E. Mosley and Stephanie L. Pierce; three great grandchildren, Ashley M.
Mosley, Isaac Mosley and Tyler Mosley; his long time companion, Eliza D.
Coombs, Bridgeton and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marguerite Lois Mosley
and an infant brother who died at birth.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Friday afternoon, June 30th at 3
p.m.
Burial will be made at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the services at the
funeral home.
