Velma Wible, 79, of Mt. Laurel and
formerly of Upper Deerfield Township, died in Virtua West Jersey
Hospital, Voorhees, on Thursday, June 15, 2006. She had been in failing
health for 6 months and a patient in the hospital for the past month.
The wife of the late William Wible, she was born in Swedesboro and was
the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Crispin Roberts. She had lived
in Mt. Laurel for the past 5 years and prior to that had been a resident
of Upper Deerfield Township.
Prior to her retirement Velma had been employed in the Hopewell Crest
School cafeteria department for 8 years.
She was a former member of Woodruff United Methodist Church. She
collected paper weights and collectible bears and was also a collector
of Thomas Kincaid Artwork. Velma enjoyed baking.
Survivors include: two sons, Rev. Lawrence H. Harris, III, and his wife
Lynn of Pittsgrove and Steven A. Harris and his wife Susan, Shrewsbury,
N. J.; one daughter, Beatrice Marx and her husband Donald, Marlton and
nine grandchildren, Jason Harris, Ryan Harris, Darren Harris, Shannon
Harris, Jennifer Harris, Adam Harris, Justin Marx, Jordan Marx and Devon
Marx. She was also preceded in death by her first two husbands, L.
Hoover Harris and George M. Tullis.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Tuesday morning, June 20, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton. A viewing
will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning between 10:00 and
