John W. "Coleman" Williams

John W. “Coleman” Williams, aged 80, of Cedarville, died at his home on Friday morning, June 9, 2006. He had been in failing health for the past year.

The husband of Annie Jean Burns Williams, he was born in Waynesboro, Ga., and was the son of the late Lee O. and Willie Mae Mathis Williams. He had been a Cedarville resident for the past 54 years and prior to that had lived in Long Island, N. Y.

Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with Coraluzzo Trucking in Vineland and with the Moore Fuel Company in Millville.

John was an avid fisherman. He loved boating, hunting and was fond of telling jokes.

Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons, Booker Sims, Bridgeton and John W. Williams, Jr., Vineland; eight daughters, Annie Reid, Vineland, Willie Mae Kent and her husband, Lee A., Vineland, Rose Williams and her husband Charleston, Millville, Diane White, Bridgeton, Brenda Lee Lewis and her husband Willie, Brigantine, Nelledy Williams-Hughes and her husband Julius, Columbia, Md., Lizzie Williams-Howell and her husband Andre, North Stonington, Ct. and Rita Scott and her husband Christopher, Vineland; twenty eight grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; one brother, Americus Williams, Cedarville; and six sisters, Martha Saunders, Cedarville, Pauline Philmee, Buena, Marion McKenzie, North Carolina, Barbara Costin, Fairfield Township, Mary McSweeney, Virginia and Ethel Walker, Bridgeton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Williams; two brothers, Frank Williams and Matthew Williams and a sister, Ruby Philmee.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, at 12 noon at the Union Baptist Temple, South Pine and Willow Streets in Bridgeton.

Burial will be made at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the services at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
