Sam P. Wilson, 60, of Upper Deerfield
Township, died at his home on Friday evening, June 9, 2006. He had been
in failing health for the past 6 months.
The husband of Sylvia E. Rogers Wilson, he was born in Cold Springs, N.
C. and was the son of the late Pink and Dora Williams Wilson. He had
been an Upper Deerfield Township resident for the past 28 years and
prior to that had lived in Elmer.
Before his retirement he had worked at Venice Maid Co. in Vineland for
10 years and previous to that with Green Giant Foods Co. in Vineland for
26 years.
Sam was a member of the Norma Independent Free Will Baptist Church and
enjoyed fishing and doing lawnmower repairs.
Besides his wife, Sam is survived by: three daughters, Sandy Wakai and
her husband Todd of Delaware, Sharon Dare and her husband Ray, Quinton
and Nancy Reeves of Ohio; one son, Doug Wilson, Ohio and six
grandchildren, Casey Wakai, Cameron Wakai, Shamir Jackson, DeDarius
Jackson, Candis Jackson and Kyle Wilson. He was preceded in death by two
sisters, Lillie and Dorothy.
His pastor, Rev. Wilburn Massie, will conduct funeral services at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township,
on Tuesday afternoon, June 13th, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Olivet
Cemetery, Pittsgrove Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral
home on Tuesday afternoon between 12 and 1 p.m. Written condolences may
