Jessie Gladys Ailey, age 77, of
Bridgeton died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem
County. She had been in declining health for the past five years.
Born in Sevier County, Tennessee, she
was the daughter of the late Dalas and Margie Bales Shults. She had been
a Bridgeton resident for the past 42 years.
Prior to her retirement in 1989 she
had been employed at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township as a
Dietary Department Supervisor. She had also previously worked at the
former Captain Bill’s Seafood in Bridgeton and the Bridgeton Bus
Terminal.
She is survived by her longtime
companion Jerome E. Wright of Bridgeton; two step daughters, Maggie
Woodson and Mary Ruth Smelcer both of Newport, Tennessee; a sister, Ruby
Baldwin of Tennessee and a close friend, Leona E. Ingersoll of
Bridgeton.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township
on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Burial will take place at Cedar Hill
Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends may call on Thursday from 1
to 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
