Edna L. Burrell, 82, of Port Norris,
died in Genesis-Millville Center on Sunday, May 7, 2006. She had been in
failing health for the past 6 years.
The wife of the late Joseph Burrell, she was born in Accomack County,
Va. and was the daughter of the late Clarence G. and Rachel E. Major
Smith. She had been a resident of Port Norris for over 50 years, coming
from Virginia.
Prior to her retirement she had formerly been employed with the Gorton
Seafood Co. in Millville.
Mrs. Burrell was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church of Port
Norris.
Survivors include: one daughter, Alice M. Marshall, Port Norris; one
son, Francis L. Smith, Hampton, Va.; two sisters, Virginia James,
Wydanch, N. Y. and Dorothy Evans, Millville; two brothers, Henry Smith,
Georgetown, Del. And Isaiah Smith, Painter, Va.; four grandchildren and
five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Laura Harmon and Rachel Barber and three brothers, Hezikiah Smith,
George Smith and Samuel Smith.
Funeral services will be held in John Wesley United Methodist Church,
Ogden Ave., Port Norris on Friday afternoon, May 12, at 1:00 O’clock.
Burial will be in Haleyville Cemetery, Commercial Township. A viewing
will be held in the church on Friday afternoon between 12:00 and 1:00
