Mary Kathryn Connelly, 86, of
Fairfield Township, died in Cumberland Manor early Saturday morning, May
13, 2006. She had been in failing health for the past 5 months.
The wife of the late James H. Connelly, who passed away in 1979, she was
born in Terre Haute, Ind., and was the daughter of the late Silas V. and
Kathryn Fuller Risher. She had lived in Fairfield Township for 45 years
and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton.
Prior to her retirement in 1983, Mary Kathryn had been employed in the
Cumberland County area as a supervisor with the State of New Jersey in
the Division of Youth & Family Services for 26 years.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cumberland
County Chapter, the Cumberland County Historical Society, Gloucester
County Genealogical Society and had attended First Presbyterian Church
in Bridgeton.
Survivors include: two sons, Grant J. Connelly, Vineland and Terrance R.
Connelly, Fairfield Township and two grandchildren, James Connelly,
Elmer and Kathleen M. Connelly, Vineland.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Broad Street Cemetery,
Bridgeton, on Saturday morning, May 20, at 10:00 O’clock. The interment
will follow the services. There will be no public viewing. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper
Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions
to the Cumberland County Meals on Wheels Program, 790 East Commerce St.,
