Frank A. Griffie, Sr., age 72, of
Bridgeton died early Saturday morning, May 6, 2006 at his home. He had
been in declining health for the past 5 years.
Born in Bridgeton, the son of the
late John and Mamie Capone Griffie, he was a lifetime area resident.
Prior to his retirement several years
ago he had been employed as an electrician by trade with IBEW Local 211
of Pleasantville.
A United States Navy Veteran, Mr.
Griffie was a member of Brearley Lodge # 2, F. & A.M. and the Bridgeton
High School Class of 1952. He was also an avid woodworker and oil
painter.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie
Wetzel of Upper Deerfield Township; a son, Frank Griffie, Jr. of Upper
Deerfield Township; a sister, Annie Buckner of Bridgeton and two
grandchildren, Staci Cornwell and Austin Griffie both of Upper Deerfield
Township. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lucy Griffie and Dolly
Powell.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township
on Wednesday, May 10th at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10
to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
