Rev. Robert M. Lucas, 83, of Odenton,
Md., died in the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, Md.,
on Saturday, May 13, 2006. He had been in failing health for the past
year.
The son of the late Paul D. and Helen Raymond Lucas, he was born in
Pleasantville. He had resided at his present address for 38 years and
prior to that had lived in Florida.
Prior to his retirement, Rev. Lucas had been a teacher at the Puriton
Christian School in Laytonville, Md. and had served as the Pastor of
Puriton Christian Church.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Force.
Based in Guam, he was a B-29 bombardier.
He was a graduate of Bridgeton High School, Class of 1940; a graduate of
Haverford College in Pennsylvania in 1950 and Westminster Seminary of
Glenside, Pa. in 1953.
Survivors include: a sister, Virginia Lucas, Fairfield Township; a
brother, Paul D. Lucas, Jr. and his wife Ella, Fairfield Township; one
niece, Barbara Dagostino, St. Cloud, Fl.; two great nieces, Angela
Dagostino, St. Cloud, Fl. And Kelly Lynn Dagostino, Cheyenne, Col and
one great-great nephew, Anthony Dagostino, St. Cloud, Fl.
Funeral services will be held in the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 68
Hitchner, Ave., Bridgeton, on Friday afternoon, May 19, at 2:00 O’clock.
Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. A viewing
will be held at the church on Friday afternoon between 1:00 and 2:00
O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT
