Mary A. Solorzano

Mary A. Solorzano, 64, of Bridgeton, died in the emergency room of South Jersey Regional Medical Center on Saturday, May 20, 2006. Although she had been in failing health for the past year, her death was unexpected.

The wife of Jesus Solorzano, she was born in Bolt, W. Va. and was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Virginia Dare Simmons. She had been a Bridgeton resident for 46 years and prior to that had lived in West Virginia.

Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Salvation Army and the Home League Women’s Group of the Salvations Army.

Besides her husband, survivors include: four daughters, Karen Moreno, Bridgeton, Mary Nieves and Pat, Garfield, Sandy Solorzano and Carlos, Pleasantville and Rebecca Davis, Bridgeton; four sons, Jesus A. Solorzano and his companion Belinda Gonzalez, Brigantine, Randy Davis and his wife Paulette, Bridgeton, Tommy Solorzano and his companion, Nicole Siegrist, Galoway and Terry Solorzano and his wife Cathy, Bridgeton; two sisters, Delores Cheslock, Millville and Shirley Ann Stewart, Georgia; two brothers, Albert S. Simmons, Jr., Georgia and Larry Lee Simmons, Tennessee; nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred Folwell, Edith Cox, Phyllis Williams, Maxine Duncan and Juanita Cheslock and two brothers, Billy Jean Simmons and James E. Simmons.

Funeral services will be held in the Salvation Army Mission, 29 West Commerce, St., Bridgeton, on Wednesday morning, May 24, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held in the Salvation Army Mission on Wednesday morning between 9:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
