Sammie Taylor, Jr., age 66, of
Fairfield Township died unexpectedly Thursday, May 18, 2006 at his home.
Born in Edison, Georgia the son of
the late Sammie and Mattie Mae Burston Taylor, he was the husband of
Ruby Ellis Taylor. He had been a Fairfield Township resident for 20
years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton.
Before his retirement due to health
reasons in 1997, Mr. Taylor had been employed with Comar Industries in
Vineland for 15 years. Previous to that he had been employed with the
Claridge
Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City and
the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton.
He was a member of Mt. Hill Baptist
Church in Deerfield Township.
In addition to his wife, survivors
include a daughter, Sonja Lanta Taylor of Fairfield Township; a son,
Samuel Jerome Taylor and his wife Michele of Rosenhayn; two sisters,
Mary Lee Lucas of Winder, GA and Betty Jean Mosley of Atlanta, GA; one
brother, Eddie Lee Mosley of Atlanta, GA and four grandchildren, Samuel
J. Taylor, Jr., Brittney L. Taylor, April S. Taylor and Elijah J.
Taylor. He was predeceased by a son, Gary A. Taylor, two sisters, Bessie
Mae Hemple and Patricia Taylor and two brothers, Frank Mosley and E.J.
Mosley.
Friends may call on Monday afternoon
from 1 to 2 p.m. at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77,
Upper Deerfield Township.
Funeral services will be private at
the convenience of the family and will be followed by the burial at
Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
