Yonebo Kuwabara, age 82, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Genesis-Millville
Center following a brief illness.
Born in Walnut Grove, California, he
was the son of the late Shokichi and Takino Okamoto Kuwabara. He had
been an Upper Deerfield Township resident for 60 years and prior to that
had resided in California.
Prior to his retirement Mr. Kuwabara
had been employed with the Progressive Foods Company in Vineland for 10
years and previous to that Seabrook Farms in Upper Deerfield Township
for 30 years.
Mr. Kuwabara was a veteran of World
War Two serving in the U.S. Army with the 442nd Combat Regiment.
He was locally known as a kind person
who was always willing to help others and was devoted to his family and
friends. An avid horse racing fan, he also enjoyed football, baseball,
fishing and boating.
He is survived by a daughter, Kelly
Kuwabara of Brooklyn, NY; two nieces, Wendy Umino of Sacramento, CA and
Michiko Oye of Galt, CA and a nephew, Nelson Kawata, Jr. also of
Sacramento. He was predeceased by a brother, Shoji Kuwabara and three
sisters, Grace Kuwabara, Clara Yamada and Taye Kawata.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, November 18th at 11 a.m. at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107
State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will take place at Laurel Lawn
Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10
to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
