Barbara Loatman, 69, of Millville
died suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 11. 2006. The result of injuries
received in a car-truck accident on Route 40, Pilesgrove Township, Salem
County. He husband Hartley R. Loatman, Sr. and daughter Tatum L. Loatman
were also killed in the accident.
Barbara was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Edgar
Brown, Sr. and Carolyn Williams Brown. She had been a resident of
Millville for 30 years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton.
Retired for the past year, she had formerly been a self-employed day
care provider for 20 years.
She loved bingo, playing cards and watching scary movies with her
grandchildren.
She is survived by nine children, Sadie A. Pierce-Harris, South
Plainfield, Hartley R. Loatman, Jr., Camden, Jeffrey Michael Loatman,
Beaumont, Tex., Vicki L. Jones, Vineland, Karen Vera, Millville, Maxine
J. Graham, Millville, Harlan F. Loatman, Millville, Rodney E. Loatman,
Millville and Tanora S. Loatman, Millville; one sister, Dolores Jamison,
Bridgeton and three brothers, Donald Brown, Sr., Salem, Hartley “Mickey”
Brown, Sr., Bridgeton and George Brown, Sr., Bridgeton; 43 grandchildren
and a host of great and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides her daughter Tatum, she was preceded in death by to other
daughters, Wendy Loatman and Brenda Brown; a son Marcus Loatman; a
sister, Geraldine Hitchins and two brothers, Williston Brown and Edgar
Brown, Jr.
Funeral services will be held in the Glory Tabernacle Church, Buckshutem
Road, Fairfield Township, on Friday morning, Nov. 17, at 11:00 O’clock.
Burial will be made at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
