Bert R. Morgan, 82, of Millville,
formerly of Bridgeton and Vineland, died in the Cumberland Manor on
Monday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2006. He had been in failing health for the
past 3 years.
Born in Pennsauken, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Dora
Richardson Morgan. He had been a resident of Millville since 1990 and
prior to that had lived in Vineland and Bridgeton. He had been a winter
resident of Winter Haven, Fla.
Prior to his retirement, Burt had been employed with the former
Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 19 years. Before that he had
worked as a heavy equipment operator in Vineland.
He was a veteran of World War Two, serving in the U. S. Army Air Force.
He served with the Fifth Air Force in the Pacific Theater.
He was a life member of the Vineland V. F. W. Bert was also a member of
the Minotola V. F. W., Minotola American Legion, Fifth Ward Club of
Bridgeton and the Vineland Recreation Club.
Survivors include: one son, Bert R. Morgan, Jr., Vineland; three
daughters, Bryna L. Morgan, Millville, Shana D. Weisgerber, Cedarville
and Rebecca Chapman, Millville; one sister, Joan Ems, Jacksonville, Fla.
and eight grandchildren, Bert R. Morgan, III, Milo Hannah, Tristen
Hannah, Bryan Morgan, Jeffrey Weisgerber, Jr., Matthew Weisgerber,
Tricia Tomlin and Kimberlee Burlew. He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Thomas Morgan and Stanley Morgan.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery will be private.
