Randy R. Winchester, 60, of
Pilesgrove Township, formerly of Fairfield Township, died suddenly
Wednesday evening, Nov. 29, 2006. He had suffered a heart attack while
on his way from work and was pronounced D. O. A. at Elmer Hospital.
The husband of Sharon Cominsky Winchester, he was born in Bridgeton and
was the son of the late John and Ethel Price Winchester. He had lived in
Pilesgrove Township for the past 17 years and prior to that had been a
resident of Fairfield Township.
He had formerly been employed with General Motors Co. in Newark, Del.,
for 35 years. After his retirement he had worked for the Tri-County
Agency for a short period of time and at present was employed with Sun
Rise Affordable Homes in Newfield. A graduate of Bridgeton High School,
Class of 1965, he was an outstanding athlete in his younger years and
had played both baseball and basketball.
He was a member of Bethel Othello A.
M. E. Church in Springtown.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Randy R. Winchester, Jr.
and his wife Pam, Vineland; two daughters, Wendy Winchester, Millville
and Lisa Traverso, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Mildred Bailey,
Bridgeton, Phyllis Holmes, Vineland, Ethel Dewberry, Bridgeton and Nye
Morris, Bridgeton and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Tuesday evening, Dec. 5, at
8:00 O’clock.
Cremation, in Laurel Lawn Crematory, will follow the services. A viewing
will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening between 6:00 and
