Viola Ola Ford, 94, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died in the Matre Dei Nursing Center, Elmer N. J. on
Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006. She had been a resident at the nursing home for
the past 3 years.
The wife of the late Lewis D. Ford,
she was born in Cocke County, Tenn. and was the daughter of the late
John and Mary Ball Cagle. She had been a resident of Upper Deerfield
Township since 1944, coming from Grassy Fork, Tennessee.
Prior to her retirement Ola had
previously been employed with the former Seabrook Farms Co. in the Rose
Room and had also worked at Anchor Hocking Glass Co. in Salem.
Over the years she had been involved
with several area churches.
Survivors include: two sons, Rev.
Doyce Ford, Verona, Va. and Ben L. Ford, Sr., Upper Deerfield Township;
one daughter, Juanita Smith, Vineland; two sisters, Lottie Hefner and
Roxie Smith, both of Gastonia, N. C.; one brother, Scott Cagle, Belmont,
N. C. and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons, Earl Ford, Walter
Ford, Roy Ford and John Ford; two daughters, Mary Jane Ford and Jenny
Holcomb; two sisters, Florence Cagle and Nora Wilson and four brothers,
Cephas Cagle, Wesley Cagle, Endel Cagle and L. D. Cagle.
Her son, Rev. Doyce Ford, will
conduct funeral services at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway
77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11th, at 2:00
O’clock. Burial will be in Centerton Free Will Baptist Cemetery,
Pittsgrove Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on
Wednesday afternoon between 1:00 and 2:00 O’clock. Written condolences
