David T. Goodman, 82, of Bridgeton,
died in Lincoln Specialty Care, Vineland, on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006. He
had been in failing health for the past 6 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the
son of the late John P. and Jennie Downey Goodman. He had been a
Bridgeton resident for 40 years and prior to that had lived in Vineland.
Before his retirement, 13 years ago,
he had been employed as a driver with the C.A.T.S. Bus System in
Cumberland County. Prior to that he had worked as a mechanic with the
Bob Novick Auto Mall and the former Scribner & Lewis Auto Agency in
Bridgeton. He had also worked at Kimble Glass Co. in Vineland.
David was a veteran of World War Two,
serving with the U. S. Army in the European Theater. He enjoyed
gardening.
Survivors include: Lillian A.
Jefferson of Bridgeton, his companion of 44 years, and with whom he
resided and two brothers, James Goodman of Aura and Wilbur Goodman of
Ewan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Smith and a brother,
John Goodman.
Funeral services will be held in the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township,
on Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Laurel
Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the
funeral home on Tuesday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Written
