Charles B. Harper, 72, of Millville,
died in Kessler Memorial Hospital, Hammonton, on Sunday, April 8, 2007.
He had been in failing health for the past 3 years.
The husband of Anna Brown Harper, he was born in Petersburg, Va. and was
the son of the late John Harper and Florence Hunter Harper. He had been
a resident of Millville for the past 10 years and prior to that had
lived in Bridgeton.
Before his retirement Charles had been employed with Progresso Foods in
Vineland. He had also been a cook at the Vineland Community Center for
several years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Besides his wife, survivors include: four sons, Charles B. Harper, Jr.,
Michael Harper and Kevin Harper, all of Atlantic City and Kenny Harper,
Egg Harbor City; one daughter, Shirel Harper Bostic, Atlantic City; one
step-son, Donald Lucky, Bridgeton; three step-daughters, Anna Williams,
Bridgeton, Valerie Lucky, Bridgeton and Donna James, Millville; an
adopted daughter, Brittaney Lucky, Bridgeton and several grandchildren
and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Tyrone
Harper and one daughter, Gloria Jean Harper; two brothers, Ollie Harper
and Melvin Harper and a sister, Mary Harper.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday afternoon, April 16, at
2:00 O’clock. Burial will be in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon between
12:00 and 2:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the family
