Leon G. Miller, 63, of Elmer, died
Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in South Jersey Regional Medical Center. He
had been a patient at the hospital for 5 days and in failing health for
the past 4 months.
The husband of Eleanor D. Jones Miller, he was born in Carolina Beach,
N. C. and was the son the late Raymond M. Miller and Dorothy A. Fox
Miller. He had lived in Elmer for 8 years and prior to that had been a
resident of Shiloh.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed with Barney’s Paint Shop in
Shiloh for 42 years.
While in Shiloh Leon frequented Richardson’s Store where he opened the
store during the week.
He and his wife Eleanor celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this
past January 15th.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Leon G. Miller, Jr. and
his wife Felicia, Bridgeton; one daughter, Dorothy A. Miller, Elmer; one
brother, Raymond Miller, Jr., Elmer; one sister, Julia E. Griffith and
her husband Ed, Oklahoma and two grandsons, Justin Miller and Dustin
Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen W. Miller.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Tuesday morning, April 17, at
10:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Old Stone Church Cemetery, Fairfield
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening
between 6:00 and 8:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
