Edna P. Smith, 79, of Pennsauken,
died in Kennedy Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 8, 2007. She had been
in failing health for the past 2 years.
The daughter of the late Nelson Smith and Martha Taylor Smith, she was
born in Whitestone, Va. She had lived in Pennsauken for 12 years and
prior to that had resided in Perth Amboy for 55 years.
Prior to her retirement Edna had been employed with the Raritan Bay
Hospital in Perth Amboy for over 20 years.
She was a member of Rebecca Lodge Chapter # 9, of Perth Amboy.
Survivors include: a daughter, Martha E. Richards, Pennsauken; two
sisters, Hilda Williams, Perth Amboy and Margaret Ann LeGrand, Herbules,
Cal. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Mildred Barnes,
Mary E. Smith and Easter A. Davis and three brothers, Andrew Smith,
Henry Smith and Joe Smith.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St.,
Cedarville, on Saturday morning, April 14, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will
be in Haleyville Cemetery, Commercial Township. A viewing will be held
at the funeral home on Saturday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock.
