Elder Darrin D. Moore, 40, of
Wilmington, Del., died in St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, on Monday,
Aug. 27, 2007. He had been in failing health for the past 8 years. Born
in Salem, he was the son of Clarence Sorrell and the late Delores Moore.
He had been a resident of Wilmington for 10 years and prior to that
Salem.
Mr. Moore had formerly been employed with Beneficial National Bank in
Wilmington and prior to that with Wood’s Out Door World in Carney’s
Point.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of the R. E.
C. M. Church in Salem, where he was ordained as an Elder and had served
as Assistant Pastor. He was also a member of Miracle Deliverance Church
in Salem.
Besides his father, survivors include: his wife, Mamona Nelson Moore;
two daughters, Unique Moore and Dasmine Gregory; a son, Anthony Green;
two step-daughters, Tabre Nelson and Dapree Brown; five brothers,
Clarence Watson, Gregory Slaughter, Gailin Moore, Thad Frisby, Sr. and
Dennis Lewis, Jr.; four sisters, Kimberlin Slaughter-Jenkins, Heidi
Mays-Fisher, Jimmeka Moore and Stacy Barber; three grandchildren, Zamia
Costen, Zion Moore and Ny’aire Brown. He was preceded in death by
brother, Andre Forman and a sister, Keyonna Forman.
Funeral services will be held in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 437 Grieves
Parkway, Salem, on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 12:00 O’clock noon. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem. A viewing will be held at the church on
Tuesday morning between 11:00 and 12:00 O’clock. Funeral arrangements
are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield
