Ivory O. LeGrand, age 83 of Upper
Deerfield Township died Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2007 at the
HospiceCare Unit of South Jersey Health Care in Bridgeton. She had been
in declining health for the past month.
Born in Bridgeton, the daughter of
the late Cornelius Frazier and Mabel Clark Frazier she was the wife of
the late Richard LeGrand and had been a lifetime Bridgeton area
resident.
Before her retirement, Mrs. LeGrand
had been employed at the Vineland Developmental Center, Pritchett
Canning Company, Seabrook Farms and Rabbit Hill Farms. She also had been
a foster mother to many area children.
A member of the New Hope Baptist
Church in Cedarville and the Order of the Eastern Star in Bridgeton she
loved people and especially children.
Surviving are a son, James Frazier,
Sr. of Upper Deerfield Township; two sisters, Dorothy Aiken of
Washington, D.C. and Jennie Williams of California; a brother, Neil
Frazier of California; 16 grandchildren, including James Frazier, Jr.
whom she raised and several great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, LeRoy Frazier,
a sister, Julia Upshur and a brother, Clarence Brown.
Funeral services will be held at the
New Hope Baptist Church, 37 Schaffer Avenue, Cedarville on Wednesday,
December 26, 2007 at 12 noon.
Burial will take place at Cedar Hill
Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11
a.m. to 12 noon prior to the services at the church.
