Willie B. Stroud, 77, of Pittsgrove
Township, died at his home on Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2007. He had been
in failing health for the past 2 years.
The husband of Danita Lewis Stroud, he was born in Upson County, Ga.,
and was the son of the late Johnnie Stroud and Addielee Byrd Stroud. He
had been a resident of Pittsgrove for the past 39 years.
Prior to his retirement in 2002, Willie had been employed with Seabrook
Brothers & Sons in Upper Deerfield for 22 years. Before that had had
worked at the former Seabrook Farms Co. for 12 years.
He loved gardening and fishing.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Desi A. Stroud, Pittsgrove;
a niece, who he raised, Connie Howell, Rock, Ga.; one grandson, Desi A.
Stroud, Jr. (Monique), Absecon; one granddaughter, Jessica Allesia,
Hackensack; one great grandson, Desi A. Stroud, III, Absecon and a host
of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters,
Mae Frances Napier, Doris Mae Rigginson and Anna Mae Stroud.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 12:00
O’clock noon. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Upson County, Ga. A
viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning between
11:00 and 12:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the family
