Thelma A. Horner, 86, of Fairfield
Township, died in the Cumberland Manor on Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
She had been in failing health for the past 7 years.
The wife of the late Kenneth Horner, she was born in Cedarville and was
the daughter of the late Benjamin Sheppard and Mary Mounts Sheppard. She
had been a Fairfield Township resident since 1990 and prior that had
resided in Buena and Upper Deerfield Township.
Prior to her retirement, Thelma had been employed with various clothing
stores in Bridgeton, including Rovner’s, Hurley’s, The Fashion Shop,
Wynette Shop and Goldberg’s.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Rebecca Lodge in
Bridgeton, where she was a Vice- Grand Master in 1965.
Survivors include: one son, David S. Cole, Fairfield Township; two
daughters, Mary Jane Hamidy, Conway, S. C. and Charlotte A. Myers,
Pittsgrove; a step-daughter, Sharon Fiedler, Bangor, Maine; a sister,
Ann Wolbert, Fairfield Township; nine grandchildren; eighteen great
grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by a sister, Sara Toye and a step-daughter, Linda Heaton.
Memorial services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday morning, March 7, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
