William Robert Brent, Sr., 79, of
Fairton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, after a
long illness, with his family at his side.
He was a life long member of the Trinity A. M. E. Church of Gouldtown,
where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees, Senior Choir and
was a Sunday School teacher.
He graduated from Cumberland County College where he earned his teaching
credentials, along with a degree in Psychology and a degree in Business.
He was retired from DuPont Co. after 29 years and also drove chartered
leisure buses for 42 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family,
swimming, golfing, good food and meeting people.
He is survived by: two sisters and one brother, Thelma Brown, Lydia Mae
harden and Leroy Brent; seven children, Roy and Darlene Marie Byrd,
Janie Brent, William Robert Brent, Jr. and Barbara Anderson, Aaron and
Beverly Brent Scott, Bonnie S. Brent, Kenneth and Donna Brent, Sr. and
Monica M. Brent. He was predeceased by his wife, Edie Bard Brent; three
brothers, Curtis Slater, Ernest Slater and Calvin Brent; one daughter,
Nancy Gail Brent and one grandson, Rashaad K. Brent. He also leaves 10
grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and
friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held in Trinity A. M. E. Church, 1103-1107,
Bridgeton-Millville Pike, Gouldtown, on Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield
Township. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday morning
between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the
direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
