Lorenzo Kelley, 77, of Pittsgrove,
passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, in South Jersey Health
Care-Elmer. He had been in failing health for the past year.
The husband of Ethel Jones Kelley, he was born in Accomack County, Va.
and was the son of the late Horace G. Kelley and Mary Ellen Douglas
Kelley. He had been a resident of Pittsgrove for 34 years and prior to
that had lived in Upper Pittsgrove Township.
Before his retirement 16 years ago, Lorenzo had been employed with Red
Lion Insulation Co. for 18 years. Prior to that he had worked at the
former Seabrook Farms Co. as viner mechanic.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed working in his wood shop and yard.
Besides his wife Ethel, to whom he was married on March 18 1950, he is
survived by: three sons, Lorenzo L. Kelley (Gullemia), Hickory, N. C.,
Larry Kelley, Colorado and Richard A. Kelley (Judi), Everette, Wash.;
four daughters, Gloria A. Kelley, Pittsgrove, Marilyn Kelley, Raleigh,
N. C., Rita Kelley, Pittsgrove and Sheilea Kleinschmidt (Timothy),
Eagle, Wisc.; one brother, William E. Kelley (Gloria), Salisbury, Md.;
nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by a brother, Horace Kelley, Jr. and two sisters, Fannie Chester
and Florence Wisher.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 12:00
O’clock noon. Burial will be in Salem County Veterans Cemetery,
Pilesgrove Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on
Wednesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 O’clock. Written condolences may
