Linwood Loatman, III, 74, of
Bridgeton died at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, after a lengthy
illness.
Mr. Loatman was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Linwood
Loatman, Jr. and Sarah Lloyd Loatman. He had lived in Bridgeton for the
past 16 years and prior to that he had resided in Los Angeles, Cal. for
30 years.
Prior to his retirement, Linwood was a truck driver by trade and was a
member of the Western Conference of Teamsters Union.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and
had served as a medic.
Survivors include: three sons, Bruce C. Loatman (Rita) of Philadelphia,
Pa., Linwood Loatman, IV, Los Angeles, Cal. and Matthew Loatman
(Tiffany), Los Angeles, Cal.; one daughter, Wanda Nichols, Atlanta, Ga.;
four brothers, Morris Loatman (Rita), Bridgeton, Thomas Loatman,
Bridgeton, Leslie Loatman (Evelyn), St. John’s, New Brunswick, Canada
and Edward Loatman (Ann) Somerdale; three sisters, Harriet Darrisaw,
Bridgeton, Adeline Dixon (Arvey), Fairfield Township and Anna Steward,
Bridgeton and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Loatman, William Loatman and
Richard Loatman and two sisters, Lillian Mosley and Sara Waters.
Funeral services will be held in the Crusaders for Christ Church, Reeves
Road, Bridgeton, on Monday afternoon, Jan. 8, at 1:00 O’clock. Burial
will be in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Township. A
viewing will be held at the church on Monday between 11:00 A. M. and
1:00 P. M. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT
