Lona E. Mick, 86, of Bridgeton, died
Sunday evening, Jan. 7, 2007, in the Cumberland Manor, after a brief
illness.
The wife of the late Howard Mick, she was born in Maskells Mill, and was
the daughter of the late Edo Ayars and Laura Sheppard Ayars. She was
also predeceased by her first husband, Robert Logan. Mrs. Mick had lived
at her present address for over 60 years and prior to that had resided
in Roadstown.
Prior to her retirement she had formerly been employed with several area
sewing factories, Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton and Seabrook
Farms.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader,
enjoyed cooking and baking, watching Jeopardy, attending Midget Football
games and her grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed dining at
Hudocks Hot Dog Stand.
Survivors include: four daughters, Carol Watson, Barbara Munyon, Diane
Kolonich (Anthony) and Sheila Morgan (Barry), all of Bridgeton; three
sons, Robert Logan, Sr., Deltona, Fla., Gary Mick (June) and Neil Mick,
both of Bridgeton; one step-daughter, Vivian Bracco, Vineland; thirty
two grandchildren, including Brain Kimble whom she raised (Joanne) of
Upper Deerfield Township; thirty nine great grandchildren; one
great-great grandchild; one great-great-great grandchild and her care
giver and friend, Louise Nock Scott of Bridgeton. She was preceded in
death by six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday morning, Jan. 12, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Woodruff Methodist Cemetery, Upper
Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday
morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family
requests donations, in Mrs. Mick’s memory, to the Bridgeton Salvation
