Helen S. Glaspey, 82, of Stow Creek
Township, went home to be with her Lord peacefully on Friday, June 22,
2007. She had been in failing health for the past 2 years.
Born in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. Sheppard
and Amelia Craig Sheppard. She had lived in Stow Creek for 60 years and
prior to that had been a resident of Greenwich.
Helen was a Licensed Practical Nurse, and prior to her retirement she
had been employed with Bridgeton Hospital, where she enjoyed her nursing
career for 44 years.
She was a faithful and active member the Greenwich Baptist Church and
had held many offices in the Ladies Guild, taught Sunday School and
Quilted at the church.
She loved to travel to Lancaster and the shore points and enjoyed
nature.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 62 years, Robert F.
Glaspey; her devoted daughter, Barbara Helen Glaspey, Stow Creek; one
brother, Russell C. Sheppard and his wife Patricia, Hopewell Township
and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three
brothers, Paul C. Sheppard, Ronald W. Sheppard and Howard “Jing”
Sheppard.
Rev. Dr. Joseph Essington will conduct memorial services in the
Greenwich Baptist Church, Ye Greate St., Greenwich, on Tuesday morning,
June 26, 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in the family plot in Greenwich
Baptist Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday
morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock, prior to the services at the
church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations, in Mrs.
Glaspey’s memory, to the Greenwich Baptist Church, Ye Greate St.,
