Claude D. Bennett, 64, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died at his home on Tuesday morning, March 13, 2007.
He had been in failing health for the past 1 ½ years.
Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret
Bernheisel Bennett. He had lived at his present address for 34 years and
prior to that had resided in Camden.
Claude was employed with the original William Hargrove Demolition Co. in
Camden for 25 years.
He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed the Charity Rides. He also
enjoyed boating, camping and was a member of the 5th Ward Athletic Club.
Survivors include: two daughters, Denise L. Hill (David), Bridgeton and
Sherry A. Cassidy (Jerome, Jr.) Hopewell Township; one son, Kirk R.
Bennett and his fiancée Marsha McAllister, Upper Deerfield Township;
three brothers, Raymond Bennett, Buena, Edgar Bennett, North Carolina
and Melvin Bennett, Millville; six grandchildren, Kacy Hill, Tabitha
Cassidy, Gerry Cassidy, Nicholas Bennett, Angelo Bennett and Alexi
Bennett and his former wife, Barbara Caruso Bennett, Pittsgrove. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Taylor.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday morning, March 17, at
11:00 O’clock. Cremation, in Laurel Lawn Crematory, will follow the
services. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening
between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family requests
donations in Mr. Bennett’s memory, to the Disabled American Veterans, P.
