Rose M. Ledbetter

Rose M. Ledbetter, 86, of Deerfield Township, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 4, 2007, after a lengthy illness.

The wife of the late Curtis L. Ledbetter, Sr., she was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Nicolena Michaels Cassella. She had been a resident of Upper Deerfield for 60 years, coming from Philadelphia.

Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Rosenhayn. She loved sewing, gardening and canning.

Survivors include: one son, Curtis Ledbetter, Jr. (Joan), Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara Bortz, Upper Deerfield Township and Deborah Hammond, Amherst, Va.; grandchildren, Curtis L. Ledbetter, III, Naples, Fla., Janet & David Bennett, Marietta, Ga., James & Cindy Bortz, Helena, Ala., Rhonda & Phillip Clevenger, Bessemer, Ala., Jennifer Hammond, Appomattox, Va. and Frederick Hammond, III, Boonsboro, Va.; great grandchildren, Nicolena, Marie, Sean & Christopher Hammond of Appomattox, Va., Brittney & Adrianna Bortz of Hoover, Ala., Jaime & Jaclyn Bennett of Marietta, Ga., and Emily Wonder of Madison Heights, Va.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Morton Ave., Rosenhayn, on Friday morning, March 9, at 10:00 O’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rosenhayn. A viewing will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Thursday evening between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock and Friday morning between 8:30 and 9:30 O’clock.
