Martha Richards, age 91, of Newport,
died in the Cumberland Manor on Wednesday, March 28, 2006.
Martha was born on Methodist Road, Newport, where she had resided until
entering the manor three years ago. Her parents were the late Louvisa
(nee Long) Richards and Frank Richards, of the same address. She was
preceded in death by her late sister, Emaline Richards Richmond in 1990.
Martha graduated from Bridgeton High School in the class of 1935. She
was a retiree of the Seabrook Farms plant. She enjoyed living in
Newport, where she was a longtime member of the Newport United Methodist
Church.
She is survived by her cousins, George C. Hess of Monroeville, Patrick
Ryan of Ohio, Rose Bell and Peg Miller of Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St.,
Cedarville, on Wednesday morning, April 4, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will
be in the Cedarville Presbyterian Cemetery, Cedarville. A viewing will
be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning between 10:00 and 1l:00
O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Newport
