Margaret P. Chatelain, age 85, of
Upper Deerfield Township died early Wednesday morning, November 14, 2007
at her home. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
Born in Bridgeton, the daughter of
the late Grover and Sara Mickle Lang she was the wife of the late
William L. Chatelain. She had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident
for the past 50 years and prior to that had lived in Salem County.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Chatelain
had been Postmaster at the Rosenhayn Post Office for 6 years and had
served as a postal clerk at the Deerfield Street Post Office for 25
years.
A member of the Deerfield
Presbyterian Church and a 1940 graduate of Bridgeton High School, she
was an avid bowler and participated in the Senior Citizens Bowling
League.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary E.
Simpkins of Stow Creek Township and Sally Ann Simpkins of Upper
Deerfield Township; two grandchildren, Paul Hogate of Upper Deerfield
Township and Lisa Hogate of Tennessee; a great granddaughter whom she
raised, Brittany Bozarth and several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by a sister, Ella Moore and a brother, Maurice Lang.
Private funeral services will be held
at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be take place at Chestnut
Grove Cemetery in Elmer.
Arrangements are under the direction
of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
