Kathryn Beryl Dawson, 74, of
Fairfield Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at Genesis-Millville
Center. She had been in failing health for the past year.
The wife of the late John E. Dawson, Sr., she was born in Woodbury and
was the daughter of the late Newton B. Sparks and Ruby Phillippi Sparks.
She had been a Fairfield Township resident for 53 years and prior to
that had lived in Bridgeton.
Before her retirement Beryl had worked for the Rennoc Corporation in
Millville for over 30 years. Prior to that she had been employed as a
switchboard operator for the former Seabrook Farms Company in Upper
Deerfield Township.
She was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in
Bridgeton. In earlier years she and her late husband Jack had been avid
motorcyclists and were members of the Fairton Smokers Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include one son, John E. “J.D.” Dawson, Jr. and his wife Ruth
of Fairfield Township; one granddaughter, Jacquelyn Champion and her
husband Michael, Upper Deerfield Township; one sister, Helen Clark,
Bridgeton and one brother, Ralph B. Sparks and his wife Angelina, San
Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher
Dawson and a brother in law, Thomas Clark.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Tuesday morning, Nov. 27th, at
10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial
Park, Hopewell Township.
A viewing will be held at the funeral
home on Monday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

suggests donations, in Mrs. Dawson’s memory, to Wesley Memorial United
Methodist Church, 424 North Pearl St., Bridgeton, N. J. 08302. Written
