Lillian D. Sexton, 89, of Bridgeton,
formerly of Norfolk, Va., died in the Cumberland Manor on Friday, Nov.
30, 2007. She had lived in Bridgeton since 2002 and prior to that had
resided in Norfolk for 37 years.
The wife of the late William B. Sexton, she was born in Penhook, Va. and
was the daughter of the late R. Arthur David and Nannie Mae Arthur
David.
Lillian was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars in Anawalt, W. Va. She loved her family, crafts and cooking.
Survivors include: five daughters, Sadie Sheets, Norfolk, Va., Alice
DeHart, Bridgeton, Janice Snedden, Bridgeton, Sue Sowell, Newport News,
Va. and Karen Sexton, Bridgeton; three sons, Bobby Sexton, Pensacola,
Fla., Dean Sexton, Virginia Beach, Va. and Phillip Sexton, Norfolk, Va.;
one brother, Hoston David, Thorpe, W. Va.; sixteen grandchildren and a
host of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters,
Susie Boyer, Maude Frazier, Vivian Mooney, Hazel Martin and Rosie
Hundley and a brother, Coleman David.
Funeral services will be held in the Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889
Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Va. Burial will be in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Norfolk, Va. Local arrangements are under the direction of the
