Clarence J. Vest, 92, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 15, in South Jersey
Hospital System-Elmer.
The husband of Mary Adkins Vest, he was born in Wartburg, Tenn., and was
the son of the late Charles H. Vest and Lura Mae Morefield Vest. He had
been a resident of Upper Deerfield for over 65 years and prior to that
had lived in Tennessee.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with Agway Corporation in
Bridgeton for 28 years. Before that he had worked at the former Seabrook
Farms Co. in Upper Deerfield Township.
He enjoyed gardening.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, James E. Vest, Upper
Deerfield; three daughters, Janice Vineyard, Upper Deerfield, Lisa Dauk,
Stuart, Fla. and Cathy J. Bullock, Upper Deerfield Township; one
brother, Russell Vest, Hopewell Township; nine grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cloyd Vest
and a sister, Virginia M. Vest.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday afternoon, Nov. 19, at
2:30 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon
between 1:30 and 2:30 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
