Fred C. Caldwell, age 95, of Upper
Deerfield Township died Saturday evening, October 6th, 2007 at the home
of his daughter, Blanche Price in Monroeville surrounded by family and
friends.
Born in Hooper’s Creek, North
Carolina on September 28, 1912, he was the son of the late Allen T. and
Rachel Messer Caldwell and the husband of Ollie Sisk Caldwell.
He had been an Upper Deerfield
Township resident for 17 years moving there from Waynesville, North
Carolina.
Prior to his retirement Mr. Caldwell
had been employed as a truck driver for Haywood Oil Company and the
Haywood Lumber Company in North Carolina. He also was a partner in a
Waynesville Taxi Cab Company. After moving to this area he had been
employed with the Harold Paulding Farms in Woodstown.
He was a member of the Centerton Free
Will Baptist Church in Pittsgrove Township.
In addition to his daughter, Blanche, he is survived by a son, George
Harold Caldwell of Upper Deerfield Township; a brother, Wayne Caldwell
of Rattler Cove, NC; a granddaughter, Judy Thompson of Pittsgrove and
three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Larry,
JayHugh and Dennis Caldwell and two sisters, Opal Rice and Elsie Rice.
Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, October 10th at 10 a.m. at the Centerton Free Will Baptist
Church, Dealtown Road, Pittsgrove.
Burial will follow the services at
the Centerton Free Will Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9
to 10 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
