Trainer at Atlantic City Electric,
Vietnam War Veteran and Outdoorsman, Gregory M. Hickman, age 57, of
Vineland died Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Vitas Hospice Unit of
Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford.
Born in Port Norris on October 29,
1949 he was the son of the late Lawrence M. and Anna Thomas Hickman. He
had currently been residing with his brother Gregory and his family in
Vineland but had lived in Nova Scotia, Canada after his retirement.
Before his retirement six years ago
he had over 30 years of service with the Atlantic City Electric Company
and was a trainer for other employees.
A true outdoorsman, he was an avid
fisherman, hunter and camper in Maine, Canada and the areas surrounding
the Delaware Bay.
Mr. Hickman was a veteran of the
Vietnam Conflict serving with the 7th Division, United States Marines.
Surviving are three daughters, Holly
Arthur and Kimberly Hayman of Millville and Shannon Palmer of
Pleasantville; a stepdaughter, Krishonda Grant of Millville; three
brothers, Lawrence J. Hickman and his wife Clara of Port Norris, Lionel
Hickman and his wife Betty of Millville, Stanley Hickman and his wife
Angeline of Vineland; four sisters, Apostle Rev. Dr. Yvonne McKnight and
Mendell Hickman both of Vineland, Sandra Hicks of Newport News, VA and
April Hickman of Millville, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a
host of nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Ray
Hickman.
Funeral services will be held at
Living Manna Ministries, 25 East Avenue, Vineland on Monday, October
22nd at 12 noon.
Burial will take place at Haleyville
Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township.
Friends may call on Monday from 11
a.m. to 12 noon prior to the services at the church.
