Clifton Holden, age 76, of Millville
died Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 at the South Jersey HospiceCare
Unit in Bridgeton. He had been in declining health for the past four
years.
Born in Accomack County Virginia on
September 22, 1931 he was the son of the late Winfred James and Nettie
Bowen Holden. He had been a Millville resident for 26 years and prior to
that had resided in Bridgeton.
Prior to his retirement he had been
employed with the Spencer Company in Vineland and the Bivalve Packing
Company in Port Norris.
Mr. Holden was a veteran of the
Korean Conflict having served with the United States Army and the United
States Marine Corps.
He is survived by three daughters,
Viola Cisi Holden of Bridgeton, Sara Vanessa Holden of Camden and Tera
Telfair Holden of Millville, several step children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren. Also surviving are his close companion Pearllinda
Walton of Millville and his former wife Dr. Viola White Holden of
Bridgeton. He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Bailey and a
brother, Dorian Holden.
Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, October 9th at 11 a.m. at the St. Augustine AME Zion Church, 49
South Pine Street, Bridgeton.
Burial will be made at Cumberland
County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 10
to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
